Blue Heron, Anhinga and Grassy Waters are mixed media paintings that work as a triptych. They were created to hang in a collator’s private home and overlook the Blue Heron’s and Anhinga’s natural habitat.
The water lily painting was inspired by a small pond with waterlilies at Zichron-Yachov Park in Israel. The day I visited the park the sun was strong causing high white highlights on the lily pads and the water to appear nearly black in certain areas. The high contrast is what attracted me to this scene. The 40″ x 30″ painting is acrylic on canvas, $1100.
The Lupin are small green plants with blue flowers. The rare Karner Blue Butterfly can be found in fields of Lupin. Every morning dew drops settle into the center of each plant. The painting is 36” x 24” acrylic on canvas. Painted as a part of my Artist in residence experience at Necedah National Wildlife Refuge in the summer of 2010. $950
