This week I completed a mixed media painting of the Great Synagogue of Florence, Italy. I visited the synagogue in September 2007 and was touched by its great beauty andย historyย dating back to the early 1880’s. I was deeply moved by the struggle for survival of theย Jewishย Community in Florence and the surrounding area. The painting that I’ve done depicts the synagogue and wish forย peace in the world. It is a special gift for a friend who will celebrate becoming a Bat Mitzvah this month.
Caren: I really love this picture. Are you going to make up postcards or notecards and send them to the synagogue in Italy. Maybe they’d sell them for you. Or a local travel agency may buy a few packs to give away as gifts to their persective clients.
Just some thoughts.
Unfortunately, when I saw the synagouge it was pouring rain.
