Eggs and Bowl
The wooden bowl and chopper belonged to several generations of women on my mother’s side of the family. To this day, I continue to use the chopper. The bowl, is semi-retired and sits in my kitchen cabinet, but is rarely used for fear of intensifying a small crack that has formed in the wood.
The Keepsake Series grew from my love of utilitarian objects. I am fascinated by simple tools and their ability to create. There is great beauty in the humble, worn chair backs and tool handles that I paint. These items have served generations and I feel privileged to be able to paint them.
