All three of my entries were accepted to the Cultural Council for Palm Beach County’s Open Call to Palm Beach County artists for its 2023 Biennial. The exhibition opened on April 21, 2023. The Biennial was juried by Juana Williams, the Associate Curator of African-American Art at the Detroit Institute of Arts. I am so pleased that she chose to discuss my painting, “LIGHT, Bryce Canyon” during her gallery talk.
Below please find a short video of Juana Williams gallery talk and the two other Paintings that were accepted in the Biennial show.
It’s inspiring to see your dedication and success in getting all three entries accepted into such a prestigious exhibition. Your painting “LIGHT, Bryce Canyon” must be truly remarkable for Juana Williams to highlight it in her gallery talk. How does it feel to have your work recognized by someone of her caliber? The Biennial sounds like a fantastic opportunity for Palm Beach County artists to showcase their talent. I’d love to hear more about your creative process for these pieces. Do you think the Cultural Council does enough to support local artists? It’s impressive that you’ve been consistently sharing your work and updates with the community. Keep up the great work—I’m excited to see what you create next!
